1 week!!

We are on the road again 1 week from today. We are taking a 2 week camping trip to the Northeast and visiting Boston and parts of Vermont. Our reason for planning the trip is to show the girls some of the American Revolutionary sites in the Boston area as we studied them back in the spring. I can't wait to visit Quincy Market and check out all the food and shopping there. We decided since we were already going to be so close, we would head on up to Vermont.

We are basically revisiting Dh and my honeymoon trip. We flew into Boston at midnight of our wedding day and drove out of the rental car area into a traffic jam! A traffic jam at midnight!!! We finally arrived at our hotel right before they cancelled our reservation. The next day, we drove up to Killington, VT where we spent a few days skiing, touring the area and eating lots of Italian food. Yes, I said Italian. The resort we stayed at included breakfast and dinner and all they had on the menu was Italian. I didn't want to see another Italian dish for a month after that. We then drove back to Boston and spent the last part of the week touring the area and walking the Freedom Trail in 1 day. Were we ever tired that evening!! We enjoyed lots of lobster there!

We won't be skiing this time around but we will enjoy the fall weather and activities in the Northeast. I will be busy all this week packing up the camper, shopping for the few colder weather clothes the girls need and most likely, going nuts listening to Puddin say "Are we going camping now?" I will leave you with a picture showing what we hope she does at least part of the time in the car.

Your vacation sounds wonderful. I am so longing for our vacation as well. I am through with summer - aren't you? With Fay, and flooding, and the threat of another hurricane every week - sheesh! We are going on a van camping vacation in Georgia in about 3 weeks, so we are right behind you (although our weather won't be as cool, crisp, and beautiful as yours will be!) Have a wonderful trip!

That's too cute. Your camping trip sounds great! We've done Williamsburg and Valley Forge, but Marissa, especially would love to go up to Boston and Plymouth, etc. We're picking back up our study on Boston soon.

Are you coming home this weekend June? I've been thinking of you during this trip and hope it has been a wonderful time with both family and history! (two of my favorite things!)
