My birthday

My birthday falls shortly after the holidays so it can sometimes be a little crazy for my family. Monday morning found my family showering me with gifts. I received an FSU necklace, 2 new Bibles from my hubby although I have to return one of them because the print was just waay to small for these older eyes. Longlegged girl drew me a picture of a coffee cup as I am changing the theme in my kitchen. It will go nicely with the one hubby drew me. Pumpkin also drew me a picture of a hummingbird. She knows that I love birds and flowers!

The girls and I went shopping after breakfast. We hit some consignment and thrift stores and found some deals on clothing items. Eldest cooked me a dinner of stuffed shells. It was a great way to spend the day!!

Pierced ears

The twins had asked for pierced ears for Christmas. We gave them earrings for Christmas with a promise to take them to get their ears pierced. I had learned that Walmart does ear piercings so we headed up there on the 3rd. Pumpkin went first and was a little apprehensive. She did well though and ended up with some beautiful white earrings.

Cucumber went next and was very excited. It hurt a little more than she had thought especially when the lady had trouble getting the back off the first earring. She was still smiling some with her pink flower earrings.

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's at home and had my mom and brother over. We enjoyed some mexican finger foods and then played some cards. Everyone made it up until midnight, even Puddin. Welcome 2009!!

Christmas Eve play

The girls have begun a tradition of doing a play for us on Christmas Eve. I didn't get pictures that actual morning since I was a little out of it from the Nyquil I had taken the night before. The girls redid the play for their grandmother who came up for a visit after Christmas so I was able to get some pictures then.

Eldest was a tv reporter in Jerusalem the night Christ was born. The other girls took turns being the on site reporter and other characters of the Christmas story.

We also had some commercials. This was a shampoo commercial.
Eldest and Longlegged Girl also tried to get us to buy thingamajigs and thingamabobs.

Pat a cake, pat a cake, baker's man
Get yourself a thingamabob if you can!

The wisemen showed up 3 years later. Puddin was originally one but she was already in bed when the encore was presented.
I can't wait to see what they come up with next year!!

I'm here

I have lots of pictures and things I want to post but life has not let me. We have jumped back into our routine full speed and I'm barely keeping up. I am going to try really hard to post some things later this week so keep watching!
