Busy Week

We made it through our first week of school fairly well. I am still tweaking the schedule but I and the girls are liking using the Google calendar. We had 3 showings of the house over the weekend but we haven't heard any feedback from any of them. Our roof problem seems to be fixed so now we can get the new floor put down.

We head out to the Ponte Vedra area tomorrow morning. Southeast Regional for C.A.R. is being held at the Sawgrass Mariott so we are attending for the first time. We all have jobs and responsibilities but that just makes it more enjoyable. I will share some pictures after we return later this week.

Back to school

Yep, we started our new school year today. I have a 9th grader (high school, how did that happen???), 7th grader and 2 5th graders. The girls weren't overly thrilled with starting back but it only makes sense. They were getting bored with the lack of routine and it has been either waaay too hot or too rainy for them to go outside and play. I certainly don't want them sitting on the computer or playing the wii or watching tv all day. We are just doing math, english/latin, typing and science. We will start the rest of our subjects in about another month.

I planned out our days on my google calendar but the Lord will direct our steps as we go through this year.

Doctor appts

Longlegged girl and Puddin had well checkup visits today. I was only about 5 months late on Puddin's 3 year but early for Longlegged girl as her birthday is coming up soon.

Puddin was weighed and measured first. 34 pounds and 3 feet, 2 inches tall! She sure seems taller than that. She must be going through a growth spurt too because she woke up last week crying that her leg hurt. The doc confirmed that is most likely was growing pains. Now she tells us that if her leg hurts, she will get in our bed. We will have to think on that one and maybe just put the mattress on the floor again. Everything else looked great.

Longlegged girl was next. We all held our breath to see how tall she actually is. She has definitely surpassed Eldest and is catching up on me fast. She came in at 5 feet, 2.75 inches. Oh boy! She hasn't even really hit her real growing yet although I think she is getting there. She came to me the other night and told me how the new nightgown I bought her was shorter than the last time she wore which was only a week before!! Craziness! And her weight, which put her around the 40%tile doesn't help because she can't wear the larger pant sizes that give her the correct length. Thankfully, there are adjustable waist pants. She also looked great but I will be taking her to a dermatologist to check out some areas on her.

We are thankful to the Lord for the good health He has allowed all of us to enjoy so far!

Target Clearance

Do you have a Target near you? Do you like to shop ahead for birthdays and Christmas? You might want to check out the toy section in Target then. They had tons of things on clearance when I was in there the other night. I took care of some birthday shopping and may go back to look some more.

4th of July weekend

We had a nice relaxing 4th of July weekend at my MIL's house in the Tampa area. We took our Wii down and enjoyed it. Even Puddin' got into it. She knocked Daddy out in boxing.
We also enjoyed the yummy ice cream cake that Dh and I made. Our dog, Ashlee made her own fun by getting out to run in the yard and trying to steal some ice cream. She wasn't successful except in wearing herself out.
We also enjoyed looking for the many rabbits that appear around MIL's house and neighborhood.

Hope you had as great a 4th as we did!!

Introduction

I have been blogging for a few years over at Homeschoolblogger but decided I needed a change. I like the ease of photo uploading and the ability to e-mail posts here on Blogger so here I am.

For those new to my blog, we are a homeschooling family of 7. Dh works on computer systems at Everbank while I stay home with our 5 girls - Eldest who is 13, Longlegged Girl who will be 12 in a few weeks, Pumpkin and Cucumber who are 10 year old identical twins and Puddin who is 3. Our schooling is eclectic but always trying to center on the Lord and His word. We are on break now but will ease back into school the last part of July with a full schedule by the end of August.

We hope you will visit us often and follow us as we seek to follow the Lord in all we do.

Mercy Me concert & camping

We spent the last weekend of June in Valdosta, GA. We went to Wild Adventures where we have annual passes. They had a Mercy Me concert Saturday evening which was the main reason we went. That was one of the best concerts I have ever been too!! They kept the whole night focused on the Lord and glorifying Him and the music is just fantastic. Can you tell they are one of my favorite bands? I would definitely make every effort to attend one of their concerts again if they are in the area.
We camped overnight which we hadn't done since November. Dh and I got the king size bed this time because we experimented with having 2 of the girls sleep in the back of the Yukon. It didn't work quite like I had hoped so I have to rethink it a little before we go to Boston. Of course, I can also pray and hope that our house sells and we can invest in a bigger and better working camper before then.

Our camper had been parked at my mom's for a good period of time and was filthy! The girls gave it a really good scrubbing and it looked much better.

Still need to fight some areas with bleach but that will be another day. We were rained on both days at the park. Saturday started with some really big gusts of wind so thankfully we were near some shelter during the worst part of the storm. It continued raining lightly for a few hours but they got the rides back up and going after about an hour or so. Thankfully, it had completely stopped by the time the concert started. Sunday, it rained again really hard but we played cards under another shelter and it didn't last as long. We didn't do the water park which was just as well with the rain. Hopefully, we will work in another trip with Daddy along to do just the water park.

Storm Clouds

Behold, God is great, and we know him not;
the number of his years is unsearchable.
For he draws up the drops of water;
they distill his mist in rain,
which the skies pour down
and drop on mankind abundantly.
Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds,
the thunderings of his pavilion?

Job 36:26-29
